An Original Course in Hang Improvisation

This is a course in improvisation: how to sit down at the hang and play anything, with no sheet music and no memorised pieces. The hang comes with a ready-made scale: the central ding and the tone fields around it sound good together whatever you play. It is almost impossible to hit a wrong note, which is a gift for improvisation.

We go step by step. First posture and hands, so you do not get tired after five minutes. Then strokes, rhythm, short melodic phrases, dynamics and pauses. In the last lesson it all comes together in an improvisation a few minutes long. You can record it and send it to the teacher for feedback.

The videos have chapters, so it is easy to get back to the right spot. You can ask questions right under each lesson.
